Helical Pile Foundations and Tiebacks

Building Concepts has extensive expertise in foundation repairs and underpinning. As a certified Chance & Pier Tech Systems Helical Pier installer, Building Concepts will work with you & your engineers to develop the most cost-efficient solution for your project. We can provide preliminary engineering and feasibility analysis to determine if helical piles are a good option for your project based on your soils information and loading requirements. Building Concepts can also provide foundation inspection and retrofit to alleviate and/or repair existing foundation settlement issues. We can also provide engineered foundation repair for various types of footings, foundation walls and basements.

Helical Pile Systems

Helical piles have been around since the early 1800's and have been utilized extensively all over the world. The helical pile system is a segmented deep foundation system with helical bearing plates welded to a central circular or square shaft. Load is transferred from the shaft to the soil through helical bearing plates. As a result of their true helical shape, the helices do not auger into the soil, but instead screw into it with minimal disturbance. Unlike concrete foundations, which require a multistep process of excavation, forming, placing rebar, pouring and curing concrete; helical piles are installed in one step. Helical piers do not create soil spoils and potential erosion.
